A few Brueghels, one of Puberty series by Munch, um, one of Andrew Wyeth’s Philadelphia (LOL I think) snow pictures with baskets, bunch of photographs from that guy from New York who photographed all the kids playing in the street. I forgot an S name. The guy who made the silver balloon bunny, (it’s hot so I have no brain) and had the affair with the porn star who was a member of Italian parliament, Jeff Koons. He’s a bit much but the bunny is cute. A bunch of music I’d like to own rights to.
The whole art movement thing, I get very tired of art people always having to talk about that. It’s always something and I think people just do it to sound smart and sell things. Everyone is seemingly always exploding with meaning about everything- it used to be called hype. I think basic concepts are helpful- modernism, post modernism- I also get a strong sense that counterculture is of course now really everything; there’s no counterculture, and the feeling is totally different, people can say the word but you don’t feel it. This is dumb, 😀but photographs of Larry the cat at the British Prime Minister’s house, twenty cameras aimed at him and that cuteness, I find that clever and it feels good to me. I think when I see art I ask does this make kids feel good, like growing up might not suck so much, if you can make a living reporting for example about Larry the cat. It makes me smile and I consider it art, for sure.
My most coveted piece of art has to be John Singer Sargent’s El Jaleo. I visit it at the Isabella Stewart Gardner any time I’m in Boston. It makes me happy.
I know, I know... We should talk about something else... But I flew over Qatar a week ago and didn't look out the airplane window. I didn't film or take pictures. Later, I saw images of missiles in the mist of the dawn (this was Israel x Iran) . I confess that I thought: is this "my" world? Anyway... let's talk about art, you there, me on the other side of the world. We have to look back at these frames of frozen pieces of time to think about the beauty that the future still has a chance to bring.

2. Morris Lewis, Where
3. Ellsworth Kelly, Red Blue
